Folkomillas returns in 2023! from june 16th to 18th.

This year Folkomillas returns with great enthusiasm. Its XVII Edition aims to make up for the years in which it has not been able to be held because we have to go back to 2019, the date of its last celebration.

The principal force behind this initiative is the Cultural Association L'Escanillu de Comillas, which aims to disseminate Cantabrian culture and traditions. In their web page you can find all the information about their activities.

For this, for a few days, an infinity of activities related to culture, gastronomy, crafts... We will find music, theaters, concerts, historical representations, native dances, entertainment activities... the field of Palacio de Sobrellano will be filled with folk, Celtic and traditional music. Can you think in another more beautiful place than this?

The Middle Aged Market will start on June 18th at 6 in the afternoon, with more than 60 stalls, where you can buy typical products of the area, both for a good meal and to take home beautiful leather crafts. glass, wood.... So that the children come delighted to this event there will be children's games, workshops and live demonstrations of traditional trades. It is about making known in a didactic way how men and women lived in the Middle Ages. It is one more activity that can be done as a family, and that can well be added to the plans with children that I am referring to in this entrance .

At the Folk Festival, 23 musical groups will perform. They will have the presence of the Scottish band Imar awarded by the BBC in 2018 as the best Folk Band. There will be no shortage of native representation, such as the Comillan choir "Brumas norteƱas" o the cantabrian groups "Cahornega" , "Los Castos", o los basques "Korrontzi" .

If you want to see the program in detail, you can consult it here .

As you can see, Comillas has a lot to offer. Attending this edition of Folkomillas is an excuse like any other to enjoy the Villa. You will not regret it. Word of Casa de Fito Comillas...
